Join The Coalition

Are you interested in joining our coalition that strategizes the fight against human trafficking in Houston and Louisiana? We encourage you to apply!

Membership in the UAHT Coalition is open to any organization, business, agency, governmental entity, or community member representative of any faith, ethnic or racial background, political view, sexual orientation, and gender identity as long as they align with the values of UAHT and the coalition as outlined here: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion | UAHT.

Member Requirements:
  • Coalition membership is valid for the calendar year and must be renewed annually during the period of April 1st – June 30th.
  • Members commit to be represented at 50% of the bi-monthly meetings of the Coalition. Meeting Schedule: 2024: August 6, October 1, December 3 and 2025: February 4, April 1, and June 3.
  • Member organizations commit to participate in one of the Coalition Committees and to attend at least 50% of meetings. Example committees: Education, Research & Advocacy, Survivor Services, Economic Empowerment, or Steering.

Membership Fees:

  • Organizations – $200 (includes membership to The Pathway referral network)
  • Community Members – $50
  • Fees are waived for survivors, coalitions, and committee chairpersons.

Coalition Leadership Application

Steering Committee members and Committee Chairs are individuals who are committed to implementing and executing strategies to increase counter-trafficking collaboration in the Houston metropolitan area.

Committee Chairs have their organization’s membership fee waived and receive a stipend.

Interested UAHT-Coalition Members who believe in the mission of the Coalition are invited to apply for membership on the Steering Committee or to be a Committee Chair.

The application will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete.

The UAHT Coalition is governed by a Steering Committee that consists of United Against Human Trafficking as the Lead Agency, Committee Chairs, and additional Coalition leaders. 

Committee Chairs lead the committees and serve on the Steering Committee. These leadership position terms are for the duration of the coalition fiscal year and can be renewed through additional application processes.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead a diverse group of individuals to reach a common goal.
  • Capacity to coordinate and facilitate bi-monthly Committee or Subcommittee Meetings.
  • Participate in monthly bi-monthly Steering Committee Meetings

Application Process

  • Fill out the Coalition Leadership Application below before June 15th, 2024
  • Applications will be reviewed by a panel that includes UAHT and former Coalition Leadership
  • All applicants will be notified of the selection decision by June 28th, 2024
  • All new members are required to attend an orientation at United Against Human Trafficking

Suvivor Advisory Committee

  • The Survivor Advisory Committee shall be comprised of 6 established and emerging Survivor Leaders from the Greater Houston Area. These experts have diverse lived experiences that bring invaluable knowledge to the UAHT Coalition. This committee advises all other committees and the coalition at large to ensure our anti-trafficking efforts are focused, informed, effective, and inclusive. Committee members use their own lived experience, studies, best practices, and research to provide expertise.

Final selection of Steering Committee members will be based on criteria that considers a number of variables in an effort to achieve broad and inclusive representation.

Steering Committee and Committee Chairs are individuals who have a commitment to implement and execute strategies to increase counter-trafficking collaboration in the Houston metropolitan area.
